How did you attract or address your audience?

The psychological elements and representation within our opening such as the close up on the characters face when she believes she is being followed attracts the audience because they understand that this is a tensed moment within this scene, almost as if there is a cliff hanger which leaves the viewer wanting to know what is going to happen. Like most conventions in a psychological thriller the opening is usually disorientated and confusion until it goes into an establishing shot which I believe as a group we did but to an extent. The convention that we used to create this atmosphere and tension in this scene were the angle shots we had used but also our 'Fable' music which is an eerie musical box. This attracts our audience too because throughout the age group most teenagers have seen horror movies that have innocent music in the background. They have experienced this and knows that this is not a typical music box. When I asked the audience about the music they already knew that the music box was eerie and it had created tension amongst them.

We addressed the audience by adding a voice over. Incoperating a voice over into the opening of our movie allows us to enagage with our audience because of the rehotorical question at the end of te opening. 'You don't think I'm crazy, do you?' We also addressed our target audience but adding characters that were the same age as them so they can relate to the opening in some way.
